\nI enjoyed learning about voice thread. I have imagined many fasinating possibilities for use in my classroom.
\n
\nIn my classroom students are expected to explain or prove how they know their answer is correct and\/or how they arrived at an answer. With this in mind, I believe voice thread would be a fun way for student to explain\/prove how they arrived at a particular answer.
\nExample: Upload illustrations and students record their explanation for the following. (This could work for any academic area. I currently teach 1st grade.)
\n
\nStudent will be given a question: Is the number 642,081 odd or even and how do you know?
\nThe student would then write out the question, read it, give an answer and then explain how he\/she knows the answer is right using correct math vocabulay and illustrations when applicible. (In this case a place value chart). This can now be shared with parents and other classes\/schools.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"11616013","body":"Great idea! \n
\nYou will be able to use echalk no problem! It is a little time consuming setting it up but once you do you will only have to maintain it. I update mine once a week and then I email parents the actual link to my site so all they have to do is click on my link. I have told parents since parents night that my website is it, and if they want or need information to go there. Then, to train parents further, when they email me a question that can be found on my website, that is what I tell them 'please reference my website'.
\n
\nThey have caught on now.
\n
\nI think Echalk is easy to maintain and saves a ton of paper and time.","dateCreated":"1241126143","smartDate":"Apr 30, 2009","userCreated":{"username":"benvenutor","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/benvenutor","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"11623391","body":"I agree- once you set up your site, it is so easy to maintain. I set all of my computers' home page to my website. That way when students open the internet - it is instantly there with any website I want. Links can be changed in literally seconds. Sometimes I add one while students watch.
